This American Airlines to New York poster (1950s) by Weimar Pursell is a good example of the artist's layered geometric style. The inks and paper stock of the original poster, the passage of time, the lighting used by the photographer to capture the image, handling and age of the photograph transparency, image profiles and other factors can all contribute to the fading of the color black.
