A cool and smoggy day in December 1929. Five flights up, mechanics are testing race cars on the roof of the Fiat factory in Turin, Italy. The turns of this full oval rooftop racetrack were actually designed to appease the laws of physics. Historical photographs such as this one are always a challenge for the restorer. Over the decades, the image is passed down from archive to archive and before it reaches your desk it usually shows much wear.
